BUILDING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT
The Building Inspection Department of the City Of
Eunice, La. provides minimum standards to safeguard life and limb, health, property and
public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of
materials, use and occupancy, qualifications of contractors, and the location and
maintenance for all buildings and structures within Eunice.
The Building Inspection Department conducts plan review sessions,
issues and tracks permits, performs inspections, and issues certificates of occupancy for
all building projects. The main function of the department is to review
construction plans, issue permits and provide independent, third party inspections to
ensure that contractors are following safe building practices.
The following is a list of permits currently being issued by the
department: Building permits -for just about everything associated with any type of
construction or remodeling activity other than painting and wall papering.
Plumbing permits -for
any new plumbing or anytime existing fixtures are removed or replaced.
Mechanical permits -for any type of
heating system, boiler or gas fireplace installation.
Electrical permits -for any type of
alteration, addition or installation of any wiring or fixtures.
Demolition permits -for the removal of
any structure .
Moving permits -for relocating any
structure .
The building department is open from 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday. We are located on the second floor of the Eunice City Hall.
